Over 400 brave Filipino soldiers deployed to Marawi City bid tearful farewell to relatives

A new batch of Filipino soldiers have recently been deployed to Marawi City in the south of the Philippines, following the ongoing armed conflict between the Philippine government security forces and terrorist groups. During the send-off ceremony, many soldiers and their family were in tears, not knowing what lies ahead of them.
409 soldiers and 19 officers from the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, 82nd Infantry Bantay Laya Battalion, were sent to Marawi City last Saturday, June 17, 2017, the ABS CBN News reported.
Before they board the C-130 plane of the Philippines Air Force, the soldiers and their family gathered together to bid farewell. They broke down in tears as they hugged their wives, children, and parents. It was an emotional send-off.
The videos of the send-off ceremony were uploaded to Facebook by Rena Serion Manubag. The videos have since been viewed over a million times with many netizens leaving encouragement comments.
“Too proud of this unit.82nd IB family. Guardians of freedom. Please do comeback alive. We will pray for you all. God bless!” wrote netizen, Marjorie Hervo.
Another netizen, Lito Oredo wrote, “May The Force Be With You and Guide You Always… I salute you all!!!”
