Would you pay £1,785 (approx. US$2270) and indulge yourself in a burger? We are sure you will be wondering what exclusive ingredients were used to make this burger so expensive.
This burger, made by Diego Buik, a native of Netherlands, is known as the world’s most expensive burger by the Guinness World Records.
The ingredients used to make this burger are: a Black Angus and Japanese dry-aged Wagyu beef patty, foie gras, white truffle, Remeker cheese, Oosterschelde lobster infused with Hermit, Dutch Coastal Gin, caviar, Iberian ham, French lettuce, and Japanese fruit tomatoes.
The burger sauce is made of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, Madagascan vanilla, Japanese soy, 35 lobsters, and saffron. Finally, the burger is completed with brioche bun made of saffron that is covered in gold leaf.
Diego, a chef at the South of Houston restaurant, told Vice.com that he had made this expensive burger for International Burger Day on May 28 this year, but this isn’t the best burger that he has tasted.
“Byron in London served me the best burger I’ve ever had—a beef burger on a brioche bun with dried bacon, Byron sauce, tomato, red onion, and aged cheddar. It cost me about £14 (approx. US$17),” he said.
If you have some extra cash to spend and want to have a taste at this burger, make sure to tell Diego in advance as “it takes a lot of prep time.”
