International Music Marching Band visits India 8 times to spread Compassion!

Since ancient times music has had a very deep connection with humanity! Music has defined our culture, our beliefs, and our values. From inspiring us to healing us, it has defined and refined our entertainment and our belief.

In recent times, a music band called the ‘Divine Land Marching Band’ with performers from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore travelled to India eight times to perform across eight cities. The band that solely consists of the practitioners of Falun Gong performed to spread the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong)  is a self-improvement meditation system based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. It was introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992 in China. It is currently practiced by over a 100 million people in 114 countries. For more info, please visit: www.FalunDafa.org

In 1999, the Chinese regime cracked down on the practice and launched a massive campaign of inhuman persecution that has continued to this day. The band through its performance around the world lets people know about how cruelly the adherents of Falun Gong are persecuted in China.

January 2008 – Human Rights Torch Relay at Bangalore

The Human Rights Global Torch Relay was organised in Bangalore before the 2008 Beijing Olympics to give a message to China that persecution of people for their faith and belief is not in the spirit of Olympics and that the country should stop violating human rights!

The Bangalore event started with a rally at St. Joseph’s University College, followed by a march through Bangalore, and ended with a candlelight vigil on the steps of Bangalore Town Hall.

The goal of Global Relay was to bring this freedom to all groups and individuals suffering persecution under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), including Tibetans, Christians, Uighur Muslims, democracy seekers and especially Falun Gong practitioners; the persecution of Falun Gong is the widest and most severe instance of human rights abuses in China today.
