A couple of couples in Seattle were walking their dogs when both canines suddenly “ran towards each other and went totally crazy.”
In February, Pam Corwin was working at Pike Place Market when she saw two couples walking towards each other with identical dogs. “Suddenly, the dogs ran towards each other and went totally crazy,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
Seeing this adorable scene, she went over and started recording the moment.
The 11-month-old dogs, Mani and Juniper, were rolling around and embracing each other.
“We noticed a puppy who looked very similar in age and appearance to [our dog] Maui, and once they saw each other they got really excited and started playing together,” Kaitlyn Hawkins, one of the owners, told KIRO 7. “After chatting with the other owners we realized that the dogs are siblings.”
The two dogs were adopted from Russia and were flown to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport when they were puppies. After one year, the dogs still recognized each other.
“I witnessed the coolest thing today!” Corwin wrote.
“They even had identifying tattoos that confirmed it. This joyful reunion went on for over a half an hour, in fact they were still at it when I left the market,” she added.
After the two families chatted, they found out that they had met briefly when they went to pick up their dogs at the airport. Now that the dogs had reunited, the families planned to arrange for a play date at a dog park and had exchanged phone numbers.
The video received an incredible response with more than 95,000 likes and 67,000 shares.
Many Facebook users were touched by the reunion.
One wrote, “Remarkable to have been brought together by fate on this particular day.”
“It’s truly [sic] is a small world after all,” another added.
There are also others who were not surprised by such a reunion.
“Doesn’t surprise me,” one wrote. “Dogs are wonderful, loyal, loving creatures and underestimated by many! Im so happy the siblings found each other and I really hope their owners let.them [sic] meet again.”
What a coincidence for the two to meet each other once again. Hopefully, there will be many more play dates in the future!
