At 8 weeks old, this British baby was turning heads with his bouffant hairdo. By the time he was 15 months old, he’d had his seventh haircut. See his attention-grabbing hairdo below.
It wasn’t an easy task for mom Chelsea Noon, of Brighton, to go shopping with her infant son, Junior Cox-Noon, due to his striking mane.
“Usually it takes me about 40 minutes to do my weekly shop in Asda and now it takes me two hours,” Noon told The Mirror.
The reason? Passersby would often stare at her bushy-headed baby, bombarding her with many questions.
“Everyone stops and says: ‘Oh my god look at the baby’s hair,’” she said.
Junior came into this world on July 30, 2016, at Brighton General Hospital, weighing 10 pounds (approx. 5 kg) and “with loads of hair,” the Metro reported.
Even doctors were astounded. “The doctors say they are amazed and have never seen a baby with so much hair in all the time they have been working. Everyone’s shocked,” Noon said.
In fact, Junior was Noon’s first child born with an enormous amount of hair.
“When he was born it was quite thick but everybody said it would stop and that a lot of it would fall out,” recalled Noon, a mom of three.
They were wrong. Junior’s hair kept growing and eventually spiked up. And with his bushy hairstyle, his family gave him the nickname “Baby Bear.”
Other than his impressive mane, “Baby Bear” has a distinguished personality. “He’s got a little smirk he puts on, he gives a little cry when he wants to be picked up and then you pick him up and he gives you a look as if to say: ‘Yes, I got my own way,’” Noon said.
Junior’s unique charm is irresistible! It’s not surprising Noon’s two other children, Mitchell and Preston, love him. “My youngest is always running up to Junior saying ‘I want to pinch his fat cheeks,’” she said.
By the time Junior was 15 months old, he’d had seven haircuts and tried out numerous hairstyles.
“It’s so hard to stop him looking messy and he’s going to spend a fortune on haircuts during his life,” Noon said.
So what is the cause of Junior’s abnormal amount of hair? Some say it could be associated with the severe heartburn Noon suffered during pregnancy. Studies found that heartburn, caused by high levels of estrogen in pregnant women, can lead to babies with lots of hair.
Regardless of the cause, Junior is absolutely adorable. As he grows up, he will surely find a hairstyle that he likes and will be able to manage the style on his own. And when he looks back at his baby photos, he can definitely say that he had an original bouffant hairdo.
