Pregnant Taylor Swift fan homeless for 8 months—when singer hears about it, she does unthinkable

Have you ever wondered why Taylor Swift’s fans are as ardent as they are? What could possibly inspire this kind of devotion? A long-time fan’s post on Taylor’s new app, The Swift Life, gives us a clue.

Stephanie had long been a die-hard “Swiftie.” She was so active on forums and sites devoted to Taylor that even the chartbusting singer had noticed her online alter ego, “WawStephanie.” But when disaster knocked on her door, she didn’t reach out to her idol as so many others would have done in her place.

In 2015, Stephanie was pregnant and living in a small apartment with her husband, Matthew. As an active fan, the two events she was most looking forward to that year were attending Taylor’s “1989” concert and bringing her baby into the world.

Unfortunately, something awful happened. “Long story short our first flat was condemned for health and safety reasons and we lost everything,” she wrote in her post on The Swift Life. “To add to the stress, during this time Matthew lost his job.”

This was cataclysmic for the young couple, who couldn’t afford another living space just then. For the next eight months, Stephanie was technically homeless and scared out of her mind about giving birth in this situation.

When Taylor’s concert came around, Stephanie desperately needed the break from her cycle of worries. She wanted to enjoy the evening and take her mind off her troubles for a while. But when she reached the venue, she was in for a surprise.

Her mother had written to Taylor about Stephanie and asked if the pop star could meet and cheer her up. In answer, Taylor invited Stephanie and her husband to her dressing room after the show. She was delighted to finally meet such a longtime fan, and couldn’t understand why she hadn’t reached out herself.

“Stephanie, You’ve been in my life for a long time and you’ve never asked me for anything,” Taylor told her. “You could have reached out and I would have helped you. But you didn’t. Your mom told me!”

The singer returned the money for the tickets that night, and Stephanie went back home thrilled to have finally met the woman who’d brought so much joy to her life. But there was more to come.

Within the next few days, Taylor Swift bought them a house. She even got Stephanie everything she would need after the baby came home from the hospital. “I want you to be able to enjoy your little girl, not have to worry about all this stuff,” the singer told her.

For Stephanie, this was a new lease on life. “That night she gave me her hand and lifted me off the ground. The same way she’s done for 12 years.”

All Swifties know that Taylor is always there for her fans, and no one was surprised to find out about her quiet generosity to Stephanie.

It’s years of caring for her fans that’s earned this 28-year-old Grammy winner loyalty that lasts a lifetime, which is why all her fans agree with Stephanie’s closing words—“I love her forever.”
